City Utilities

The City Utilities Office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The City provides electric, water, sewer and trash service. The utility bills are mailed out on the last business day of each month. The bill is due on the 15th of each month. If the 15th falls on a day the utilities office is closed, it is due on the next business day. If the bill is not paid by the 15th, there is a 10% penalty applied to the bill. If the bill is not paid by the 5th of the next month, utility services are disconnected for non- payment. In order to get the utilities turned back on, the past due bill plus reconnect fees must be paid. Payment may be made by check, cash, money order or credit card.

    Sewer

    Billing:

    Residential
Based annually on average gallons of water used October 15 through January 15

    1st 1,000 $12.89
    Next $3.15 per thousand

    Calculation:
Deduct 1,000 minimum: Divide balance by 1,000: Multiply balance by $3.15
This is the set rate for the year.
Example: Average annual use is 5,000 gallons
    5,000 - 1,000 = 4,000 = $12.89
    4,000 / 1,000 = 4x3.15 = $12.60 = $25.49

    Commercial
Same rate but figured monthly rather than annually
